Brian Brohm QB 6’3 230 Louisville 4.83

By: Robert Davis

Brohm may have been the most hyped recruit in Louisville history and he showed his potential early on. He was named the Big East Freshmen of the Year after throwing for 819 yards and six touchdowns, while completing over 67% of his passes. He moved into the starting lineup as a sophomore, earning Big East Offensive POY honors for his success on the field. Brohm passed for 2,883 yards, with a 19-5 TD/INT ratio while completing completing over 68% of his passes. Last season as a junior, he completed 63.6% of his passes for 3,049 yards and 16 yards to just five interceptions. As a senior, Brohm actually threw as many interceptions as he had in his first three seasons. That does not mean he disappointed this year. He threw for a career high 4,024 yards and 30 touchdowns to go along with 12 picks and a 65.1% completion rate.

Brohm has it all from a physical standpoint. He has a nice frame, and is sturdy enough to sit in the pocket and take a hit. His arm is excellent, and he can make all the throws. He is also a good athlete with the mobility to elude the rush and buy more time. On the field, Brohm has proven to be an extremely efficient QB, making smart decisions and not turning the ball over very often.

The only real knock on Brohm is his durability. He has had some injury issues during his stay at Louisville. He tore his ACL as a sophomore, and was hurt twice last year. He tore ligaments in his thumb, and also had surgery on his left shoulder.

Brohm considered leaving for the NFL last year, where he was a likely first rounder. Nothing has really changed this season. He looks like he will be the second QB selected, and should still be a first round pick. If he slides out of the Top 15, somebody may be getting a steal.
